#Choco-Millet Waffles

Usually kids refuses to eat healthy stuffs, but this Waffles may be a change over for them. This is completely healthy recipe of my style. But yes of course you could replace it with normal method also. I have mentioned both the way down below. Lets get into the recipe....😊

Serves :- 2 people  ( makes 5 to 6 pieces approximately )
Preparation time :- 10 mins
Cooking time :- - 2 minute for each 
Measurements :- in grams and in spoons

*tbsp - Tablespoon
*tsp   - Teaspoon


Ingredients 

Millet flour can be Braunhirsemehl (German) or Soya flour or Ragi flour or any millet.
Sweetener can be Date sugar, coconut sugar, palm sugar, jaggery (vollrohrzucker), brown sugar or any sweetner. 
Milk can be oats milk, soya milk, almond milk or normal milk. 

Vegan 
  1. Millet Flour (Hirse Mehl) - 100 grams / ½ cup + 2 tbsp
  2. Cocoa Powder - 24 grams / 3 tbsp
  3. Date Sugar - 60 grams /¼ cup + 1 tbsp ( or any Sweetener)
  4. Egg - 1 large ( Separate egg yolk and egg white)
  5. Baking powder - 1 tsp
  6. Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  7. Salt - ¼ tsp 
  8. Oats milk - 200 ml / ¾ cup + 1 tbsp
  9. Butter - as required
Method 
  1. In a bowl sift the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Add egg yolk, vanilla extract and milk. Mix them well and keep this batter aside.
  2. In another bowl beat the egg whites until white, foamy and with stiff peaks. 
  3. Then add the egg whites to the batter and mix it very gently. Mix slowly until the egg whites mixed with batter. This step is done to keep the waffles soft and crispy even when they are cooled down. 
  4. Heat the waffle machine, apply little butter and pour the batter. Cook it for 2 minutes or until it is done. That is it your healthy, crispy and soft waffle is ready. 
  5. Note that if you do not have waffle machine you could make pancake also with the same batter. 

How to beat the egg whites ? 


How to mix egg white with batter

Normal 
  1. All purpose flour  - 125 grams  / 1 cup
  2. Cocoa Powder - 24 grams / 3 tbsp
  3. Sugar  - 60 grams   /  ¼ cup + 1 tbsp 
  4. Baking powder  -  5 grams  / 2 tsp
  5. Salt   - ½ tsp
  6. Oil    - 70 ml  / ¼ cup
  7. Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  8. Buttermilk  - 200 ml / ¾ cup + 1 tbsp
  9. Eggs   - 1 large
Method 
  1. In a bowl sift the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Add egg, oil, vanilla extract and buttermilk. Mix them well and keep this batter aside.
  2. Heat the waffle machine, apply little butter and pour the batter. Cook it for 2 minutes or until it is done. That is it your healthy, crispy and soft waffle is ready. 
  3. Note that if you do not have waffle machine you could make pancake also with the same batter.
