'Aaloo' means Potato and 'Gobi' means Cauliflower. This is a simple dry masala curry which goes perfectly with any Indian breads. You can make this with simple ingredients and cooked in few minutes. Serves :- 3 people
Preparation time :- 15 mins
Cooking time :- 15 mins
Measurements :- in grams and in spoons
*tbsp - Tablespoon
*tsp - Teaspoon
- Cauliflower - 1 medium sized
- Potato - 2 medium sized
- Onion - 1 medium sized
- Ginger - 1 inch piece
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Cumin - 2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Yogurt - 1 tbsp
- Salt - as per taste
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Fresh coriander - few
Method
- Cut the potato and cauliflower into pieces as you like.
- Chop the onions into small pieces.
- In a pot add oil and heat it. Then add cumin seeds, garlic, ginger and onion. Saute it for 1 minute.
- Then add vegetables, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix them all well and add ¼ cup of water. Close the pot and cook it for 10 minutes in medium heat.
- Once the vegetables are cooked, keep the pot open for 2 minutes. Let the water evaporates and dry out little bit. Then finally add yogurt and mix it well.
- Check the salt taste and adjust accordingly. Sprinkle some fresh coriander leaves.
