#Egg-less Orange Mousse With Fruit Compote

I made this for my husband's colleagues who came for a dinner to our home. They really loved this combination with all those berries combined with Orange richness creamy mousse. You can make this a day before and refrigerate it. I hope you will also love it. Lets go......😃

Serves:- 5 to 6 people
Preparation time :-  mins
Setting time :- 6 hours (or) Overnight
Measurements :- in grams (or) cups & spoons

*tbsp - Tablespoon 
*tsp   - Teaspoon

Ingredients for Fruit Compote 
  1. Fruits    -  500 grams / 2 cups 
  2. Sugar    -  150 grams / ¾ th cup
  3. Water    - 250 ml  /   1 cup
  4. Orange zest  -  1/2 tbsp
  5. Rum     -  15 ml   / 1 tbsp (optional)
  6. Dry Ginger powder - 5 grams / 2 tsp
Method 
  1. You can choose fruits of your choice preferably with less water content like apples, grapes, pears, any berries or peaches.
  2. In a sauce pan add all the above item into it and cook it for about 8 to 10 minutes until the fruit juices reduces, sugar combines and thickens up. Now turn of the stove and keep it aside. Let it cool down completely. Note that this compote will not become too thick like sauce. It will have its slight juicy consistency. 
Ingredients for Mousse
  1. Orange zest     -  30 grams  / 2 tbsp
  2. Orange juice   -  30 ml      / 2 tbsp
  3. Mascarpone cheese   -   300 gm  / 1 and ¼ th cup
  4. Fresh Cream    -  250 ml   /  1 cup
  5. Powdered sugar   -  125 grams /  ½ cup
  6. Grated chocolate  -  for decoration
Method 
  1. Take a separate bowl and keep it in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Add the cooled fresh cream into this chilled bowl. Whip the cream with hand mixer until you get soft stiff peaks. Do not over beat it. Keep this whipped cream inside the refrigerator.
  2. Next in another bowl add the room temperature cheese, orange juice and zest. Mix it well using a whisk. Mix it well by hand until its creamy. Now add the sugar into it. Mix it well combined.
  3. Next add the whipped cream into this cheese mixture little by little and mix it gently until all combined.
Method of Layering 
  1. In a dessert bowl add the fruit compote as a bottom layer. 
  2. Next on the top of the compote add this cheese and cream mixture. 
  3. Sprinkle some chocolates on top and decorate it with some Orange slices and mint leaves or of your choice.  
  4. Keep it in the fridge for at least 6 hours or overnight to set completely. 
  Let this Cooled Mousse break down your heat. 😃
