#Home made Garam masala powder ( Whole spices powder )

Here I give you my version of Garam masala mix which is not spicy and with balanced spice flavours. In general I do not use any masala powders which is in shops. I make my own spice powders without spicy (or with very less spicy) and store it in refrigerators. This masala powder can be used to almost all of the Indian curries(which requires) and for most of the marination. But if some of you feel like doing it in home to give a change then this recipe is for you. Lets go.....

Preparation time :- 12 mins
Measurements :- in grams and in spoons

*tbsp - Tablespoon
*tsp   - Teaspoon

Ingredients
  1. Coriander seeds     - ¼ th cup
  2. Cloves                   - ½ tbsp
  3. Cardamom            -  ½ tbsp
  4. Cinnamon stick    -  1 stick around 5 cm height
  5. Pepper seeds         - 1 tbsp
  6. Red Chillies          - 3 nos  (optional)
  7. Cumin seeds         - ¾ th tbsp
Method
  1. Place a clean dry pot on the stove and heat it in medium heat. Once it is hot add all the above ingredients into the pot. Keep stirring. Do not stop stirring because it might burn your ingredients.
  2. Also remember that the heat should be around medium to low.
  3. You should keep on stirring this mix for around 5 minutes. You will feel the aroma of roasted spices by that time.
  4. Then keep it aside to cool down completely. Grind it into fine coarse powder.
  5. You can store this in a clean and air tight glass jar inside the refrigerator for around 3 months. Make sure you use dry spoon for use. Wet spoons might spoil the masala faster.
  6. Note that the colour of your masala powder may differ from the picture given, because of any changes made in the ingredients.
  7. If you want to prepare more, then double up the ingredients quantity according to your need.
Without Chillies
