#Fish Fry in South Indian style

Here is the recipe for a simple fish fry with sweet potatoes of my style for a healthy brunch or lunch.  You can try it with fish steaks or with fish slices or with whole fish. For this recipe I have used Salmon fish steaks. It is also perfect for any summer grill party. Lets get into the recipe.....😃

Serves :- 3-4 people
Preparation time :- 10 mins
Cooking time :- 30 mins
Measurements :- in grams and in spoons

*tbsp - Tablespoon
*tsp   - Teaspoon

Ingredients
For Fish Fry
  1. Fish - 500 grams
  2. Ginger  -  ½ tbsp
  3. Garlic  - ½ tbsp
  4. Cumin powder      - 2 tsp
  5. Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
  6. Turmeric powder  - 1 tsp
  7. Chilli powder  - ½ tbsp  (optional)
  8. Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  9. Salt - as required
  10. Sesame oil  - 2 tbsp ( if not olive oil)
  11. Corn flour - ½ tbsp
Method
  1. Clean the fish well and drain out all the water completely as much as possible.
  2. In a bowl add finely chopped ginger and garlic ( or you can also ginger & garlic paste 1 tbsp), cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, lemon juice, oil and salt. Mix this all together to make a paste.
  3. Apply this paste on to the fish and make sure that this paste is coated in all sides if the fish. Allow it to marinate for 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  4. Then you can cook it on stove top or in the oven. For Stove top use a larger pan, add 1 tbsp of oil, heat it up for a minute on medium heat, then add fish pieces one by one. Cook it on each sides for 5-7 minutes depending on the size of the fish. For Oven preheat it at 200 degree Celsius for 10 minutes, then place the fish pieces on a tray, bake it for 20 minutes and broil each side for 5 minutes.

Enjoy your dish with some fresh leaves salad and a squeeze of lemon. 😉😉
