#Chicken Clear Soup

This soup is a very simple one to prepare and suitable to consume it on cold weather or even when you are suffering from common flu, cold or cough then it is a best medicine to have. It gives you relief and makes you energetic. Lets get into the recipe.....😊😊

Serves :- 2-3 people
Preparation time :- 10 mins
Cooking time :- 15 - 25 mins
Measurements :- in grams and in spoons

*tbsp - Tablespoon
*tsp   - Teaspoon


Ingredients
  1. Chicken   -  500 grams  ( any part of the chicken)
  2. Shallots   -  3 - 5 pieces  
  3. Garlic      - 3 cloves
  4. Ginger     - 1 inch piece
  5. Tomato    - 1 small size
  6. Cumin seeds      - ½ tsp
  7. Fennel seeds      - ½ tsp
  8. Turmeric powder   - 1 tsp
  9. Cloves       - 2 pieces
  10. Cardamom - 2 pieces
  11. Oil      - ½ tbsp  (olive oil or Sesame oil)
  12. Curry leaves    - few  (optional)
  13. Water       - 1 litre 
  14. Salt           - as per taste
  15. Crushed pepper    - as per taste
Method 
  1. Clean the chicken well and keep it aside.
  2. Finely chop the shallots, garlic, ginger and tomato.
  3. Take a medium sized pot or a pressure cooker, add oil and allow it to get hot in medium heat.
  4. Then add cloves, cardamon, cumin seeds and fennel seeds, saute them for 10 seconds.
  5. Then add shallots, garlic and ginger. Saute them for 1 minute in medium heat.
  6. Then add the tomato and curry leaves, saute it for a minute. 
  7. Next add the chicken, turmeric powder and 2 tsp of salt. Saute them for a minute. 
  8. Then add water, check the salt level at this point and allow it to cook. (A) If you are cooking in a pot, close it with a lid and cook it for 25 - 30 minutes in medium heat or until the meat is well cooked. (B) If you are cooking in a pressure cooker, cook it for 4-5 whistles in medium heat.
Tips
  1. You can use this same recipe with different meats as well like lamb or beef or pork.
  2. The cooking time differs for each meat. So make sure you cook it until the meat is done.
  3. The ratio for soup is always 1 : 2 that is for 1 kg of meat you should add 2 litres of water.

Serve it hot or warm with some breads and sprinkle some pepper on top.😊
