#Palak Paneer ( Curry with Spinach and Indian cheese)

It is a North Indian dish but popular world wide I guess. One of my favourite dish as well. This curry is cooked in many different ways. But I give you here my style of easiest preparation which tastes good as well. Lets go.... 😊

Serves :- 5-6 people
Preparation time :- 20 mins
Cooking time :- 25 mins
Measurements :- in grams and in spoons

*tbsp - Tablespoon
*tsp   - Teaspoon

Ingredients
  1. Palak(Spinach) leaves     -  250 grams
  2. Red Onions      -  2 medium sized
  3. Garlic chopped   -  ½ tbsp
  4. Ginger chopped    -  ½ tbsp
  5. Green chillies    -  2 nos (optional)
  6. Tomato   - 1 medium sized
  7. Paneer (*)   -  350 grams (Indian cottage cheese)
  8. Coriander powder    - ½ tbsp
  9. Garam masala Powder(*)    - ½ tbsp
  10. Oil   - 2 tbsp
  11. Cumin seeds  - 1 tsp
  12. Salt   - as per taste
  13. Fresh cream   - 1 tbsp
Method
  1. In a pot add some warm water. Cut the Paneer into cubes as you wanted and put it into the warm water for 10 minutes. This will clean your Paneer and keep it soft.
  2. Next in a pan add oil, allow it to heat up. You can take any oil of your choice. Even butter or ghee tastes even more better.
  3. Then add cumin seeds into it, then onion, garlic and ginger. Saute it for 2 minutes. Then add tomato, spinach, coriander and garam masala powder. Saute it for 5 minutes in medium heat. Then allow this to cool down for 10 minutes in the same pan.
  4. Then using your mixer or hand blender make this mixture into smooth/coarse puree.
  5. Again put this pan with the puree on medium heat and saute it for 2 mins. Be careful that your puree bubbles up and spit out if you keep it high heat.
  6. Then add the Paneer cubes only without the water. Mix it gently and add salt according to your taste. Now close the pan with lid and keep the heat in very low. Let it cook for at least 5 minutes.
  7. Finally top it with fresh cream before serving.
Tips
  1. The ingredients marked (*) are available only in Indian stores, if you are not living in India.
  2. Salt and Spice can be adjusted according to your taste.
