'Dhal' means Lentils and 'Palak' means Spinach. Healthy yet tasty one which you can taste it with rice or with Indian breads. Usually this dish is made using 'Moong Dhal' which you get it in Indian stores. Picture is given at the last for your reference. Lets get into the recipe.......😊😊
Serves :- 4 people

Ingredients
- Lentils - 150 grams / 1 cup (Yellow Moong dhal# or Red lentils)
- Onion - 1 medium sized
- Tomato - 2 medium sized
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Fresh Spinach - 100 grams / 1 pack
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp (#)
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Water - 450 ml / 3 cups
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Salt - as per taste
( You can also add chilli powder or black crushed pepper if you like )
Method
- First heat a pot in a medium heat, then add only the lentils into it. Saute it continuously for 3 minutes to roast the lentils slightly. This step is a small trick to make your dish more delicious.
- Then transfer this lentils into separate bowl. Wash it once and add water, let it start soaking.
- Now with the same pot, add oil and heat it in medium heat. Then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, Chopped onion and garlic. Saute it for 1 minute.
- Then add tomatoes, coriander and turmeric powder. Mix them well and cook it for another 1 minute.
- Next add lentils with water, then finely chopped spinach leaves and also add salt according to your taste. Close the pot half way not completely and allow it cook for 10-12 minutes in medium heat. Keep mixing the pot for every 5 minutes.
- Once all the lentils are cooked super soft then its done. Yes, its done.
